My parents were both educators. They instilled the importance of education in their children. Education gives people opportunities that they might not have otherwise."

" I enjoy giving back to the community; it makes me happy to be a part of an organization that gives scholarships to students that have worked hard and help further their education. This is why I choose to serve with PEF."

The Plainview Education Foundation participates in funding innovative programs, resources, and tools that helps prepare Plainview’s future workforce. A skilled, readily available workforce is one of the top three factors businesses consider when deciding where to locate. That’s why it’s crucial for our schools and teachers to have the resources they need to equip our students for success in the local workforce. As Executive Director of the Plainview Hale County Economic Development Corporation, I’m proud to partner with PEF to align our community’s educational goals with our economic objectives, ensuring the continued growth and vitality of Plainview’s economy.

“Education is a profession that make all other professions possible” a quote I heard several years back and firmly believe in. I love kids and Im happy to give some of my time and efforts to the students and staff of PISD. I believe any efforts spent educating children and helping teachers who have been called for this important work will be time well spent for Plainview!

"I serve to be able to help someway our community, especially when it comes to education."
ROBERT NAVA
PEF is important to me because everything we donate is locally. We can help the district where they can’t provide, we step in!
I chose to be on the PEF board because as a husband from an educator I know all that is instilled in teaching. Sometimes it seems like I’m in the ditches and trenches right next to her educating these students. Being part of the board I can bring insight of what is really needed in the classroom and I’m glad to help.

I chose to serve on the PEF board because I truly believe in what they do and want to be a part of that greater good. I have seen first hand what these grants do for our teachers, and especially during these struggling times, I want to be able to bring that joy to the teachers and schools.
MIKA SNYDER
"The reason I serve on the PEF board is the fact I’m a mom of 3 little Bulldogs! We have chosen to make Plainview our home, and I feel it’s important to be involved and help support Plainview students and teachers! Plainview is on a roll with so much new growth in our city and school system; it’s an exciting time to be here!"
